That's not dirt or brown sugar; it's Oak-Smoked Chardonnay Salt. Just fyi.

For those of you who followed our teetering journey through Drunk Week last week, thanks for channeling your inner Irishman and hanging with us. Fun times!

Understandably, we’re a bit tired—but still ready for mischief. This week we have a  twist…we want to hear from you.

If you read the blog post about my blissful shopping spree at the Dallas Central Market, you probably won’t be surprised to find out that I came home with a little present for myself: Oak-Smoked Chardonnay Salt. But here’s my problem: I can’t quite figure out what to do with it. Last night I used it in collaboration with some herbes de provence, orange zest, and shallots to “French Up” some baked mahi mahi filets. Pretty nice. But I haven’t found the right recipe that really showcases this fantastic finishing salt.

So…ideas? Post a reply here and we’ll give a whirl and see what kind of mischief comes of it. 😉

In Other News…
I was home in Jackson this past weekend, having dinner with my folks, discussing life in general. My mom has practically been Kitchen Mischief’s #1 fan, and she was asking what was next for us. The ensuing conversation led her to brainstorm what Matthew and I think could be a really awesome idea.

Here’s the thing: dinner parties are fun, but they can be a bit stuffy. And going out to dinner in this town can be fantastic, but pricey, If you’re enjoying dinner and drinks, it’s hard to escape with a check much under $100. Thus, the idea of a Kitchen Mischief Supper Club was born.

Here’s how we’re thinking it would go down. First, we would throw out an open invitation on the blog for 8 to 10 folks for a set date at either mine or Matthew’s home. We would collaborate with our guests to ensure a crowd-pleasing menu, and to enlist any interested mischief-makers who might like to help us in the kitchen during the event. The menu would include a starter cocktail, appetizer, main course, and dessert.  All we’d ask each guest to do is bring their drink of choice, and a $25 donation for groceries. Oh, and we’d blog about all of the night’s antics, of course!

We’re still in the brainstorming phase of this idea, so let us know what you think. We’re not out to make money or anything silly like that. Matthew and I are just having a blast with this blog and want to see what else we can do. We think this could be a fun time.

Looking forward to your input!

II think we should have a Madison version of the event. Who would do the cooking? That could be a problem! Cheryl
